- Ezekiel Machogu said that children should get enough rest and sleep to allow them enjoy their schooling life.
- Speaking at Nairobi Primary School, Machogu made the remarks after witnessing students attend school at odd hours of the day.
“As we resume the normal education calendar the curriculum clearly stipulates that learning must begin at 8am and end at 3.45pm. waking them up at 4am to be in class by 6am subjects them to unnecessary mental torture,” Machogu said.
The CS expressed concern over a trend where school buses pick children as early as 5am and drop them as late at 8pm.
