The recipient will have a set amount of time to accept or reject a request once initiated. This function works similarly to PayPal invoicing, but it’s more straightforward. You may begin the request from your smartphone instead of needing to call someone for cash or if they owe you money. The new feature is expected to benefit entrepreneurs such as taxi drivers, who can now request their charge directly in the app rather than rely on the rider to do all of the work.
How to request money from someone’s Else MPESA account with the new MPESA app
- To begin, make sure your smartphone has the new MPESA App installed.
- Go to your app store and look for MPESA;
- There’s the Play Store for Android, and for iOS, there’s the App Store.
- Launch the app after it has been installed and set up, and select the Send Money option.
- You should see two options at the very top: REQUEST and SEND.
- To get money from someone else, tap REQUEST.
- After that, enter the MPESA number of the other person.
- You might choose from a list of frequently contacted people or search through your whole contact list.
- After choosing their MPESA number, enter the amount and then your PIN to complete the transaction.
